Will you be attending an upcoming kid’s birthday party at an indoor playground? While playing in an indoor playground full of bounce houses and obstacle courses is a ton of fun, it’s important to know about a few things before coming to party at these establishments. Most kids’ party places, like trampoline parks or amusement centers, have specific details you may not know if you’ve never visited before like attire, height and age restrictions and rules regarding dropping kids off. Here’s six things to keep in mind to limit the unwanted surprises and maximize the party fun!

1. Saftey

Most public venues offer children’s party options. This is great but often means there could be multiple parties taking place in the same indoor playground on the same day and at the same time. Since the venue could be heavily crowded, it could result in some safety issues. Children could wander off and get lost or get hurt by other kids due to the crowds. At Pump It Up, safety is our number one priority, which is why every party is 100% private. This means no one but your party guests will be in the playground and everyone can feel comfortable and confident their children are safe.

2. Strict Cleaning Procedures

With so many guests and children moving about during parties, it’s important to be aware of cleaning procedures. At Pump It Up, we want to ensure our guests and party pros stay healthy while playing, so we expanded our strict cleaning procedures to include federal and local recommendations. In our facilities you will find procedures including signage to limit cross-traffic between 100% private parties, all employees wearing masks, single-use gloves, and frequent hand-washing, advanced cleaning technology used before and after each event on all surfaces in the play area, mobile sanitizing station and detailed checklists to make sure cleaning standards are met daily. Also keep in mind that at Pump It Up parties are 100% private, meaning you can control who your child comes in contact with and it is easier for us to clean before and after each group arrives.

3. Special Socks

Although many jump parks require parents to buy special socks before allowing their child to play at the indoor playground, at Pump It Up, we allow you to stay comfortable in your own socks! Our inflatables are designed to be enjoyed no matter the footwear and are safe for all types of socks. If socks were accidentally left at home, most of our facilities offer adorable socks for purchase so your child will never be left out of the fun.

4. Attire

While most indoor playgrounds are climate controlled, it’s important to think about your child’s attire. They’ll be running, jumping and playing, so it’s best to dress them in comfortable clothes for the activities they’ll be participating in.  Pump It Up is climate controlled, so you don’t have to worry about dressing your kids in a jacket, however, we always encourage you to note any party themes like glow in the dark, animals, princess or anything else, so your child will feel part of the celebration.

5. Height & Age Restrictions

All jump parks have height and age restrictions, but they vary from place to place. It’s important to check restrictions online before attending a party at a specific play center. This way you can be sure all guests, including your child and any siblings of guests, can have fun during the party. At Pump It Up, kids need to be at least 34 inches tall in order to play on the inflatables. However, if they do not meet this minimum, don’t fret, most of our facilities have toddler toys for them to enjoy, such as ride-ons and building blocks.

6. Dropping Kids Off

If you’re considering dropping your child off at a trampoline park or kids’ amusement center for a party, we recommend you ask the party host beforehand. At Pump It Up, we assist with supervision throughout the party to take the stress of the host to keep all children accounted for, however, this is not the case for all kids party places. Also, some indoor parks may require you check-in your child and sign a waiver before they play. Either way, you’ll want to be sure you know what to do when you arrive.

Although you can never know 100% what to expect before arriving at a new play center, these six tips should help you feel a little more prepared. Once you’ve taken these key points into consideration, it will surely take any stress off of you and the party hosts and make the party more enjoyable for everyone!
