If you’re of a certain age when you think of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles you think of Vanilla Ice and a bad “Go Ninja, Go Ninja, Go” rap. That’s not likely what your kids think of though.

The Turtles are back in a big way between their Nickelodeon cartoon, comic books and movies. With the newest installment, TMNT: Out of the Shadows, set to be released in theaters this June, your little fan may be clamoring for a turtle themed party for their next birthday. Don’t worry, we’ll play Leonardo to your Michelangelo and help you come up with ideas to throw the best bash even Splinter would be honored to attend.

Bring the Turtles to the Party

It’s surprisingly much easier than you’d think to get Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo to be at your child’s birthday party. In fact, it’s as easy as green balloons, some crate paper (orange, purple, red and blue), tape, large googly eyes and a marker to draw the mouth on.

TNMT Cupcakes

Birthday cakes are so yesterday. Cupcakes are becoming all the rage at kids birthday parties. So why not bring some flare to the usual birthday fare and make your child’s party treats completely fit the Ninja Turtles theme?

It’s easier than it looks thanks to Betty Croker’s cake mix, some green icing and Fruit By the Foot. See the step-by-step instructions at BettyCrocker.com.

A Healthy Snack Worthy of a Ninja

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stay pretty active. You wouldn’t fuel a sports car with the same gas you fuel your lawn mower. Wouldn’t you want to give your little ninja the right kind of energy to power through their party? Sure, the Turtles love their pizza but this creative and refreshing fruit plate is a great way to show off the party theme while fueling the fun with something other than processed sugar. All it takes is some green grapes, raspberries, a few pieces of bananas and some creativity to bring it to life.

Turtle Powered Goodie Bags

There’s nothing better than something simple and inexpensive for mom to make but for for the kids at the birthday party to have. These TMNT goodie bags are the best of both worlds. With some green paper bags — which can be purchased for as little as $2.00/12 bags — some colorful cardstock and a marker you can be make your child and their party guests feel like a million bucks or at least like they’re ready to take on the Foot Clan.
